Many years ago when Stephen Covey wrote the book, “The 7 Habits of Effective People,” he spoke about the concept of Emotional Bank Accounts.
Each one of us has an emotional bank account and people and ourselves are either making deposits or making deductions from your Emotional Bank Account.
When we honor commitments we make to others, we make deposits in their Emotional Bank Account. The same goes for us personally ~ when we make progress, take the first step towards our goals, know that we are taking action to make the goal come true, we make deposits in our Emotional Bank Account. This increases our own levels or self confidence, self esteem and self belief.
When we don’t take action, make progress or take the first step, we make withdrawals. Doubt creeps into our life, self talk becomes poor and the belief that it is possible for you to achieve the goal decreases.
What can you do today to make a deposit in your own Emotional Bank Account?
